A Yarn Lover’s Dream

Last week my sister came to visit.  We don’t normally get to spend any time together because I live on the East Coast and she lives in Missouri.  We had an absolute blast hanging out, shopping, eating, drinking and generally just spending a lot of time with my family.

My sister is going to be a first-time grandma in January.  She’s gotten really excited about handmade baby items and sat down one night to look through my books and magazines.  I thought I was the only one in my family who got crazy excited about all the possibilities but you should have seen her!  Before we knew it, she had a list a mile long of projects for me to make, not just for the new baby but also for her.  So, on Friday, we headed to my favorite local yarn shop, The Knitter’s Edge.  Here’s the dream part – I came home with a huge bag of yarn and I didn’t even have to pay for it!!!  And, who doesn’t love having a bunch of new projects to make?!

Here are some of the beautiful items I’ll be making in the next few months:

I’ve already started this one!

This is from the Spring/Summer 2009 Debbie Bliss Magazine – the Garter Stitch Pullover
These crocheted slippers are in the new Noro magazine.
From this issue I’m making the cell phone case with i-cord strap.

And, last but definitely not least…

This cute sack and hat comes from Leisure Art’s Dreamy Cocoon.

Well, back to work.  Happy knitting and crocheting!
