I’m watching March Madness and Lehigh has made it to the second round. They defeated one of the best teams in basketball on Friday, surprising everyone and setting off a Twitter and Facebook storm around the world! Their tenacity and drive have motivated me to get started planning for Breast Cancer Awareness in October.
My daughter and I walked in the Philadelphia Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer 3-Day walk 3 times. Last year we walked in the Making Strides 5K sponsored by the American Cancer Society. Because my daughter-in-law serves on the executive committee and it’s local, this has become our adopted event. Our team’s name is “Fielding the Fight Against Breast Cancer”. One of my contributions to our team is to find creative ways to raise money.
One of my favorite companies is Lionbrand. I’ve decided to design a granny square scarf using Vanna’s Choice in raspberry, colonial blue and white. Not your typical granny square scarf where all the squares are the same. This will be a mosaic. Never tried it before but it should be fun.
Check back for regular updates – I’m off to order the yarn!
