A Cozy Granny Square Christmas Garland – A Very Cottage Christmas
Join us as we make a beautiful Christmas garland in A Very Cottage Christmas event. Add vintage-inspired handmade to your holiday season.

It’s that time of year when the hustle of the holiday season kicks into high gear. It’s awfully easy to get caught up in the crazy pace and lose yourself in a sea of to-dos.
That’s why my crochet bestie, Christine of Spotted Horse Design Co, and I created an event to help you slow down.
A Very Cottage Christmas – running December 1st through 12th – will serve you up some cozy, handmade charm in the form of a gorgeous granny square Christmas garland. It’s a stress-free holiday make for those who need a budget-friendly way to add vintage-inspired appeal to their homes.
A Very Cottage Christmas Free Crochet Along
I love decorating my house for Christmas. The whole family all the way down to grandkids get in on the act.
Our Christmas stockings really are hung on the mantel and hold a cherished spot in our hearts. While many of our traditions and decorations span decades of family history, I also love creating new ones.
A Very Cottage Christmas is a free crochet event designed to give you short bursts of creative energy that help you through the stress of preparing for the holidays.
During this 12-day event, you’ll be treated to 6 granny square variations, all free-to-view on our blogs. Those beautiful squares are joined to become a decorative Christmas garland for any place in your home needing a quiet burst of Christmas energy.

We’ve designed this event to be as easy on your budget as you want, from shopping your yarn collection to recreating the Christmas garland with the free resources we’ll provide. You can also upgrade your experience for the ultimate cottage Christmas celebration!
How A Very Cottage Christmas Works

Design + Construction
One of the reasons I love working with Christine is her uncanny ability to combine colors that are truly relaxing and cozy. I give her complete credit for choosing the yarn (Lion Brand’s “Color Theory”) and the beautiful colors we used for our squares. The combination gives a nod to traditional Christmas colors while adding those “cottagecore” colors for a rustic, homey look.
Six granny-inspired squares are the centerpiece of your garland. Each square measures approx. 5″ across with each one bringing a unique vibe to your beautiful garland.
Each square is designed to be made in an evening, manageable enough to give you a break from the bustle without taking over your time. And, a simple string of chains connects those squares for easy hanging anywhere you like.
Hang your Christmas garland on the mantel, over a doorway, or any place in your home that needs a little holiday cheer. We hope this beautiful garland helps you slow down, relax, and enjoy some time just for you!
