The Smooth Wave Crochet Stitch | A tutorial by MadameStitch

The month of May is fast approaching and, dare I say, the weather might be about to warm up here on the East coast!    Summer will be here before we know it, and we’ll be dreaming up ways of getting to the pool or the beach.

We need stylish accessories to carry our essentials, am I right?! With that in mind, I’ve designed the absolute perfect beach tote that can carry all those necessary items, including your favorite beach read.

The Smooth Waves Beach Tote is a fun make, sturdy enough to carry your sunscreen, beach towel, plus anything else you might need for a relaxing day at the beach.

I chose the Smooth Wave Crochet Stitch for the body of the tote. Not every crochet wave stitch pattern is created equal. In fact, I found a number of variations. I really liked the look of this one because it’s so gentle. It reminded me of a beautiful, quiet Caribbean beach somewhere! This particular version has beautiful stitch definition and is a very easy pattern to memorize, perfect for binge watching TV.

I hope you’ll give the smooth wave crochet stitch a try – I’ve included written instructions for the stitch pattern and a crochet chart for those who prefer it. Enjoy!
