My oldest grandson carries earbuds with him everywhere in order to listen to music and videos on his phone. Usually those earbuds end up in his pocket.

Occasionally, I’ll get a phone call, asking if he left the earbuds in my car. Sure enough, there they are.

Wouldn’t it be cool if there was a solution for that?

That’s what the Music to My Ears Cozy was designed for. Tuck the earbuds in the cozy and attach the whole thing to a backpack or purse strap.

It keeps them safe and secure while dressing them up in granny square goodness!

You’ll never go searching for them again because they’ll be hanging securely from your purse strap or backpack pocket. And, those little granny squares will bring all the compliments and smiles.

  • Hook: US size G-6 (4mm)
  • Finished Size: Approx. 3.5″ square to fit standard earbuds case

  • Your earbuds will be protected AND stylish.
  • Never leave your earbuds behind when they’re tucked in the case.
  • A handy loop means you can attach your case to a purse strap or backpack zipper for easy access.

I designed this crochet earbuds case to protect those expensive earbuds first and foremost. But, that function doesn’t have to be drab and dreary.

The Music to My Ears Cozy is the kind of accessory you’ll want to show off and never be without.

Two little granny squares make up the main body of the cozy. Those 3 rounds give you the chance to express yourself through color – bright and bold or maybe coordinated neutrals for more sophistication – you get to decide.

Assembling the cozy couldn’t be more straightforward. A continuous round of single crochets joins the granny squares into a pouch, then another round of single crochets are worked around the open edge for the perfect finish. The chain loops that close the cozy are made at the same time as the single crochets that are worked around the opening.

You’ll love how quick and easy the crochet earbuds case is. Make multiples and give them away to family and friends. This little crochet earbuds case is perfect for tucking in a Christmas stocking.

This crochet earbuds case is the absolute perfect way to save money and shop your yarn collection. That’s what I did!

I love Stylecraft “Batik DK” because of its heathered texture, giving my crochet earbuds case the rustic, retro look I love. Plus, the acrylic/wool blend means it will hold up against repeated use.

Of course, you can choose any DK weight yarn you happen to have in your stash. A sturdy DK weight yarn that stands up against the elements is recommended. You’ll only need about 30 yds in 3 colors.

Can a beginner crocheter make this crochet earbuds case?

Absolutely! The case is just 2 small granny squares crocheted together. The loops that close the case are made as you work the border around the opening. It’s all very straightforward.

Would worsted weight yarn work?

You can certainly use the heavier yarn but your finished crochet earbuds case will be a larger size. Standard size earbuds wouldn’t fit as snuggly in the cozy.

Can I make the cozy in one color instead of three?

Sure can! You can use any combination of colors you like. Get creative!
